On October 12, 1951, three days before I Love Lucy premiered, Desilu filmed Episode #6, "The Audition." An enterprising member of the studio audience secretly brought a 16mm movie camera with him into the bleachers that evening, and when no one was looking he managed to take a few "home movies" as the filming proceeded/ Gregg Oppenheimer, son of series producer and head writer Jess Oppenheimer, recently discovered and obtained this rare color footage, and has edited it together with scenes from the actual show.

Yo Amo a Lucy: “Pruebas de Vestuario y Maquillaje”, presentadas por Robert Osborne

Entre fines de agosto o principios de septiembre de 1951, poco antes de comenzar la producción de “I Love Lucy”, Lucille Ball y Desi Arnaz grabaron varias pruebas mudas de vestuario y maquillaje. El director de fotografía Karl Freund (y otros) utilizaron las pruebas para evaluar todos los aspectos artísticos, desde la iluminación hasta los peinados y las selecciones de vestuario. Una vez que comenzó la producción, las pruebas se archivaron y quedaron en el olvido, pero fueron descubiertas mientras se preparaba la edición en Blu Ray de la serie, en donde se las incluyo para que fueran vistas por primera vez. Esta presentación en Blu Ray esta presentada por Robert Osborne, quien aporta comentarios a medida que vamos viendo las imágenes.

Programa Especial "I Love Lucy: The Very First Show"

A principios de 1990, Joanne Pérez descubrió una copia del piloto original de I Love Lucy -que se creía perdido- entre su colección de películas de 16 mm. La señora Pérez llevó la película a su amigo, el productor B. Donald Grant, expresidente de CBS Television, quien sugirió que se creara un especial televisivo centrado en ese piloto. El especial se emitió en CBS el 30 de abril de 1990, y resulto ser el programa de televisión más visto de la semana, nominado además para un premio Emmy. Este programa especial fue presentado por Lucie Arnaz, hija de Lucy y Desi.
