Pleading self-defence, she was acquitted in court, but the dead man's family wasn't satisfied.

She was a battered hhousewife and eventually she shot and wounded her violent spouse. Instead of protecting her, the local sheriff raped her. Then, she filed a civil suit to fight for justice.
